Missouri Information

Missouri law requires that all drivers have to carry a minimum amount of liability insurance on their vehicles. Missouri, unlike Kansas, operates under an “at-fault system” which means the driver is responsible for the accident and is liable for the damages caused. Missouri’s mandatory minimums are as follows:

Bodily Injury Liability

• $25,000 per person
• $50,000 per accident

Property Damage Liability

• $25,000 per accident

Uninsured Motorist Bodily Injury Liability

• $25,000 per person
• $50,000 per accident

According to the NAIC, in the year 2022, Missouri drivers paid an average of $1,133.90 a year for complete auto coverage which included liability, collision and comprehensive. The cost now depends on your driving record, your vehicle, your coverage needed, and the current year’s premiums.

Missouri drivers can qualify for discounts such as:

• New Drivers
• Long Term Farmer’s Clients
• 5 Years Without Accidents
• Multi-Policy Coverage
